Difference between Intel Core2Duo and Intel Core i7 processor

Difference between Intel Core2Duo and Intel Core i7 processor

The Intel Core i7 is a completely new architecture which is much faster and more efficient than the Intel Core2Duo.
The main difference between this are
Native Quad Core,More Cache and Hyper Threading
Quick Path Interconnect and On Die Memory Controller

Native Quad Core, More Cache and Hyper Threading:
All the Core i7 Processors are Native Quad Core(4Cores) which means that they actually have 4Cores on single die and two such dies merged together. This increases the processing speed greatly. they also have 256L2 Cache per core and a shared 8MB l3 Cache which has proven to be much better than any cache configuration in Core2Duo.

Quick Path Interconnect and On Die Memory Controller:
The Core i7 processors sport the new Quick Path Interconnect technology which replaces the FSB(Front Side Bus) to connect the various components in a Computer.QPI is much faster than FSB and hence improves the overall performance. It is even faster than AMD's similar Hyper Transport 3.0 standard.
The Intel Core i7 have an On Die Memory Controller which means that it can access memory much faster than the Core2Duo processorswhich had an external memory controller.
Intel borrowed this feature from AMD!
All the four cores, memory controller, cache are on the same die which improves the speed and performance greatly!!

  • Civil Services-IAS Prelims: IAS Prelims General Studies; Civil Services-IAS Mains: IAS Mains Civil Engineering I, IAS Mains Economics I, IAS Mains English, IAS Mains English Literature I, IAS Mains General Studies I, IAS Mains Geography I

  • Should you select public administration because everyone else is choosing it?

  • If you are from an engineering background, which optionals are the best for you?

  • Is it true that selecting unpopular optionals helps with IAS success?

  • Why do so many people prefer geography, sociology and psychology?

  • Should you attempt the paper in English, Hindi or your own language?

  • Confused about which optionals would work the best for you? Then, gain clarity with expert guidance.

Your whole score and result could depend on just one decision : what optionals you select. Don’t start your IAS preparation without consulting IASKracker. Here are some pointers:

    • Most engineering students choose Geography as its a technical and scientific subject, and better suited to their mentality
    • Public administration has a limited and defined syllabus - enabling you to score higher
    • Almost all IAS toppers in recent past chose at least one unpopular optional subject - are you covered?

Tips like these are covered in fortnightly classes and PowerPoint presentations created by by IASKracker. Enroll now to gain clarity and take an informed choice to prepare for IAS.

    Course Package:

    • 01 Live Interactive Online Class / Month
    • Some tutorials and PDF's on selection of optionals

    About course instructor:

Having qualified IAS prelims in all the 4 attempts, Vimlaksh Gautam is the instructor who knows what is required to be read and retained to qualify IAS prelims. He has also reached Civil Services Interview in 2008 where he scored 371/600 in General Studies paper of Civil Services Mains. He is B.E (Electronics and Telecommunication), Mumbai University, 2004 and lives in Nagpur, India.

How To Improve Increase Performance of Windows 7

Windows runs well and am impressed by on Windows 7 works out of box, but we can improve performance by changing few things
We can do the following things
    1. Reduce Boot time
    2. Improve your Computers performance
    3. Increase Speed up EHDD

Now will tell you how to do all the above.

    1. Reduce Boot time:
This can be achieved by two as shown below
    • Remove unnecessary startup programs
    • Remove Spyware.
I suggest to use StartUp Delayer.

Startup Delayer gives you the power to optimize your Startup Process by delaying applications from starting up as soon as you log into your computer. By delaying the applications during start up, your computer becomes usable a lot faster. Startup Delayer will then start launching your delayed applications when your computer is idler.
    Download HERE

    2. Improve your Computers performance
Windows 7 has a performance rating tool.
Its rates your system and suggest tips to improve it.
    To rate your system

    1. Click the start button and type performance information and tools
    2. Click on Rate and run the test.

    3. Increase Speed up External Hard Disk Drive(EHDD)

The default settings disables write caching for external hard drives. To turn on this feature follow the steps

    1. Go to Device Manager
    2. Now navigate to Disk drivers and press + which is present next to Disk drives
    3. Right click on your external hard disk and select Properties
    4. Now navigate to Policies tab and click Optimize for performance and check the both boxes..[font=Times New Roman]

Change default Notepad with Ribbon UserInterface in Windows 7

FluentNotepad is a free tool by SalvoG92 at deviantART.
this tool gives you the ribbon user interface to Notepad.
Let me tell you How to do this.

How to replace it with default Windows Notepad:
    1.Download the tool HERE
    2.Open the archieve
3.Now navigate to C:\Windows\ & C:\Windows\System32\ and rename the Notepad.exe file in both the folders to Notepad-No-Ribbon.exe
    4.Copy the FluentNotepad.ese to Notepad.exe
5.Now the default Windows Notepad will be replaced with Ribbon UI Notepad....

How to restore the default Windows Notepad:

    1.Navigate to C:\Windows & C:\Windows\System32 and delete the Notepad.exe & Fluent.dll files in both the folders
    2.Rename the Notepad-No-Ribbon.ese file in C:\Windows\ & C:\Windows\System32 to Notepad.exe
3.Now the ribbon UI will be replaced to default Windows Notepad.

    Enjoy Windows7!!

    Local PC with Four Fans

Hi..., I found my Hard disk and processor getting heated so much, Usually my CPU has 3 fans, but Recently motherboard was repaired, now i changed to Mercury Extreme motherboard.. But this Motherboard has only 2 fans to attach.., Even with 3 fans my CPU gets heated too much, since i don't have A.C in my room.. But now only 2 fans, So i decided to provide External Supply to the 3rd fan.
I already had 1 extra fan, and attached that extra fan to my Hard Disk..
Now my CPU has 4 fans..Heat produced also reduced..:-).
Power supply to the 3rd and 4th fan which i attached was given by DC Adapter of 12volts.
